Here is a suggestion. After two months the old comments are removed from the "Ramblin Rants" I have a question that I feel is important but it is soooo far down below all those websites and stuff that I doubt anyone is going to read this. Army shreds documents on friendly fire deaths
In late 2006, two American soldiers from Fort Carson died in Iraq. The army said the privates were killed by enemy action. But in October of this year, Salon revealed that the two men had in fact been killed by friendly tank fire.
Now, Salon has found that the documents related to the men's deaths were shredded just hours after the story was published.
"Three soldiers at Fort Carson, Colo. -- including two who were present in Ramadi during the friendly fire incident, one of them just feet from where Nelson and Suarez died -- were ordered to shred two boxes full of documents about [Albert] Nelson and [Roger] Suarez," reporter Mark Benjamin writes. "One of the soldiers preserved some of the documents as proof that the shredding occurred and provided them to Salon. All three soldiers, with the assistance of a U.S. senator's office, have since been relocated for their safety."
The night the Salon story ran, Oct. 14, 2008, a staff sergeant told three soldiers to shred two boxes of documents relating to the privates' deaths.
"Staff Sgt. Swinton was in charge that night," Benjamin adds. "He told Kremling, Mitchum and a third soldier who had reported for duty that the evening's labor would include the inglorious task of cleaning out a closet. The first priority, Swinton said, was to shred the thousands of pages of documents in two large copy-paper-size boxes. It would be tedious work, but Swinton was adamant. 'He says, 'I need that paper shredded. That has to be done tonight,'' remembered Kremling, who volunteered to get started on the job."
Privates Nelson and Suarez appear to have been killed by an American tank shell -- not in fact by enemy action as the military claimed.
"Based on the testimony of eyewitnesses, and on video and audio recorded by a helmet-mounted camera that captured much of the action that day, my report stated that Nelson and Suarez seemed to have been killed by an American tank shell," Benjamin said. "The shell apparently struck their position on the roof of a two-story ferro-concrete building in Ramadi, Anbar province, Iraq, killing Suarez instantly, mortally wounding Nelson, and injuring several other soldiers. I included both an edited and a full-length version of the video in the article. The video shows soldiers just after the blast claiming to have watched the tank fire on them. Then a sergeant attempts to report over a radio that a U.S. tank killed his men. He seems to be promptly overruled by a superior officer who is not at the scene. An official Army investigation then found that the simultaneous impact of two enemy mortars killed the men."

IN regards to the Ojai poll, Just wondering why so many of you think uniforms would be good for Ojai kids going to public schools? To save money? Wouldn't kids miss their uniqueness? Is this cruel or is this sensible I don't know. I think I would hate it! I never had to wear a uniform.
Many reasons for uniforms. It would make it easier for kids to decide what to wear. It would eliminate gang-identifying attire. It would prevent 15 year old girls from leaving home looking like Hooters girls. It would prevent boys from walking around with their pants sagging, leaving their ass-cracks exposed. Kids have plenty of off-time to show their fashion style. School is a place to learn, not a fashion runway show or a place to attract johns.
Thanks for your reply Annon above,, You make a solid case against wearing anything you want to school and I guess that would free up parents from having to tell kids what they can and cannot wear as my parents used to do. I can remember a time in the past though when I enjoyed picking out my clothes for school, at least I am out of school now so I don't really care although I would say they should have a uniform for girls that would have the option of wearing pants as well as skirts. Skirts are a bit chilly on the legs. Now that would be cruel. Force girls to always wear a skirt to school and sexist.

Alrighty! Looks like I am ON topic here judging by most of the previous posts, I have my own conspiracy theory. My own conspiracy theory is this.... when something like 9/11 happens there is a secret, government run group that uses media outlets like youtube or videos, to immediately start all kinds of different theories on what "really" happened, my favorite being the ray gun from outer space or, the jet had no windows so it couldn't be an airliner. Runners up is the one about the demolition experts that snuck in and rigged the building to collapse. These serve to spread confusion and to make people give up thinking about the most obvious reason for 9/11 happening. That is simply, they let it happen. Like Pearl Harbor. It was necessary to facilitate the rational for going to war. Public sentiment was against the war then and there is no way Bushco could have just invaded the middle East without a darn good reason right? Perhaps they were looking down the line and realized that one day terrorists would have nukes and they had to get this war started over something so they let the jet attack happen perhaps maybe not knowing it would be as deadly as it turned out or maybe they did know. However, tHere was only one jet that didn't make it to its mark. WHere was that one headed for? The real evil doers rationalize their actions by telling themselves at night that they saved more lives this way. As for chemtrails and stuff like ray guns in outer space or warping the stratosphere or starting a disease to kill us all...even for the most evil isn't that just kind of stupid? How could an evil person enjoy the planet he wants to control if he screws it up? Thats my conspiracy theory so nobody steal my idea okey? I plan to put this in a newsletter and make a bunch of money.

So sad about the young man attacked on Waite Street. So sad that the police do not have an officer assigned to that street 24/7. I avoid that hood even in the daytime. Little Colonia right there for all the tourists to see.
Also sad that the law cannot catch the crooks who do the car break-ins on Matilija Canyon Road. It is a dead end road. The crooks must live close by or they'd get caught driving out. I like your Ojai poll about Michael Phelphs decision to smoke Marijuana. I could vote good or bad thing though. It depends. Did Michael Phelphs smoke Mexican? Or did he smoke somebodys homegrown? When I say Mexican its not a put down to Mexicans in general, its because drug cartels are ruining Mexico and they are coming here and growing it here and using pesticides. I don't smoke pot and I don't grow it but I think it should be legal to grow one plant for personal consumption. Just sitting here in MY HOME, at 6:45am and listening to the sounds of cement trucks and workers pounding around out front. It seems the Mayor of Oak View (who owns Oak view Shell) can't be bothered with putting the trucks on his own property to do the work on his establishment, but rather have them come to the back of his business on a residential street and wake all those people up in the morning instead. For all of you:
In Ventura County a very dark thing happens when you get a traffic ticket for minor things. You get a criminal record! All traffic citations are listed in the criminal system. This means that it can and does affect things like jobs and notary commissions among other things. Why? Most general inquiries see there is a "hit" in the criminal system- not that it is a minor traffic issue that was completed 10 years ago- they see the word convicted and you are done. I personally know of a notary that has lost their commission over this, and people who were denied jobs over this. I have one that still shows 10 years later as convicted even though I paid and went to traffic school. Talk about how Ventura County screws their residents- you don't have to go any further if you are an honest, hard working person, without a criminal history- you now have one if you live in Ojai, and you have been the target of one of the highway patrol officers they send up here to train on us, and pick on small things- I was going like 58 miles an hour at the time on 150- where there are no signs- did it matter? Am I venting, yes. Shame on Ventura County.

I am considering starting a campaign to sign at least enough signatures to get onto the ballot the following:
If a neighbor makes false complaints (Qty 2) to any entity, damages any property, steals any property, posts up noise makers, or further items to be defined-
They would be subjected to the same penalties which can be given to people with nuisance barking dogs, fines and misdemeanors, and these would go back and be retroactive for a five year time period from the date of the approval by Ventura County Voters.
What do you all think? I have heard from many people in the County and in Ojai which suffer at the hands of their neighbors calling the County on them, sheriff, and more all with false complaints. I for one am fed up and hope that enough of you are with the weirdos who inflict their beliefs and lives on others. Right now there is nothing to stop these people from harming others. How about it? Another one for general knowledge:
If you are a military mom or dad- guess what our fearless leaders have done- or allowed to happen- you now can not send a package, mail, or anything to your son or daughter without filling out a customs form- even if they are in the US- declaring everything in your package (violating privacy) and then paying additional - yes additional TAXES on items you purchased for your child. Add to this a time delay for your package to be "processed" by customs. How I found out was I sent a package as I always have done (for many years), the same way. A month later, I spend a 1/2 hour trying to park at said post office, then a 1/2 hour in line to be given back the package I sent a month before to my son, with an added "customs form" I was told I had to complete in order to send it. Oh, and get this, the PostMaster agreed that the package was going from Ojai to San Francisco- to San Diego today, but I still had to do the X!@#$! customs form. (Oh, and I was informed that it could no longer be sent any priority) So, perhaps this is a new part of the stimulus plan, charge military families more to send delayed packages to their loved ones.
After talking to my son, I found out that they of course didn't know about this "change", and was just recently informed that the management will be taking away leave days and R & R that our family members so desperately need after working so hard.
It is very sad that the people who serve this country are being affected in this way.

Leaving peoples vents there to read over and over again isn't healthy. You know , once you've pooped you need to flush. The same thing goes for emotional venting. When I was a little girl about 8 years old, I went to the Rose parade in Pasadena. As I was sitting there with my best friend a man moved in beside me. I looked down and stared since I had never seen a mans thing before. Then I realized what it was and I found it incredibly disturbing to think he picked me to show me his private parts to. Without getting into a long story, it messed me up for awhile. According the above comment person, nakedness in public is a non issue. You are saying whats the big deal? Well I think the parade is the wrong place for people to display their private parts at least for the kids sake ok? You might not think its disturbing for her to go naked but for a lot of people it is. Freedom means being free from wierdos that are hell bent on showing you their TTs or their Pe--ses. Would you think it was healthy for her to stand in the playground naked? Well, there are just as many children at the parade. Show some common sense.

This is the end of our conversation. I just sped read through your whole windy post. You started this whole thing by demonizing everyone who voted against allowing a naked person to ride during the Fourth of July. I am sure most people who voted assumed that meant the parade. When it comes to denying freedom you are equally to blame when you say let people express themselves naked in public.
